Clothes
In March/April It can get quite hot, with temperatures ranging from 82-95 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. Nights and early mornings are cooler but not freezing. Due to the dry season, it can be dusty, so it’s best not to bring any expensive/fancy clothes.
Nepalese dress more conservatively, so pack outdoor-friendly clothing instead of city outfits. It’s important to travel light, make sure you can carry your belongings on your own.

What to Bring
Pack comfortable walking shoes, flip-flops or sandals, good-quality socks, both shorts and long pants (avoid jeans, consider elephant pants), light T-shirts or long-sleeve shirts for layering, a lightweight rain jacket, a fleece or hoodie, necessary toiletries, a sun-protective hat, swimsuit, ample daily medications, a durable daypack (not too large), plug and adapter, quality sunglasses, water bottle, high-protection sunscreen (a must), hand sanitizers and wet wipes, mosquito spray, a good book or two for leisure reading.
avoid these
Don’t bring anything valuable that you can’t afford to lose. Avoid bringing food unless it’s necessary for health or religious reasons. We encourage students to try new foods in Nepal, and there will be plenty available, including snacks after lunch and dinner at the hotel during teaching.
Avoid overly heavy luggage or items that are difficult to carry. You can easily exchange currency in Nepal.
